Against the backdrop of growing demand for high-precision control in industrial applications, multi-axis positioning systems are widely used in industrial automation, robotics, and precision manufacturing. A high-performance ADC plays a critical role in such systems. This article primarily introduces the application of the domestically produced GX7606 as a replacement for ADI‘s AD7606 in multi-axis positioning systems.
The 16-bit 8-channel synchronous sampling ADC GX7606 features built-in analog input clamping protection, analog filters, and programmable gain amplifiers on each channel. The chip integrates a digital filter, a 3.5ppm/℃ low-drift 2.5V precision reference voltage source, and a 4.5V reference voltage buffer, supporting both parallel and serial interfaces.

The GX7606 operates on a single 5V power supply, with all 8 channels achieving a throughput rate of up to 200kSPS. It supports a true bipolar input range of ±10V and ±5V, features a 1MΩ analog input impedance, and can withstand input clamping protection voltages of up to ±30V, with an ESD rating of up to 8kV. For applications with lower throughput requirements, the GX7606‘s built-in oversampling mode and flexible digital filters can be used to improve noise performance.
As such, the GX7606 features high precision and high sampling rates, enabling it to accurately and quickly convert analog position signals from multiple axes into digital signals. In multi-axis positioning systems, position information from multiple coordinate axes needs to be precisely acquired and processed simultaneously. The GX7606‘s multi-channel synchronous sampling capability perfectly meets this requirement. It ensures that position data from different axes remains highly synchronized in time, providing a solid foundation for precise system control and real-time response.
Additionally, the GX7606 boasts excellent anti-interference performance. In complex industrial environments, various electromagnetic interferences and noise exist; however, the GX7606 can effectively filter and suppress these interferences, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the acquired position signals. This is crucial for multi-axis positioning systems that require high precision and stability.
