Application of GX1278 software and hardware replacement of ADS1278 in ultrasound medical imaging system with eight channel 400ksps 24 bit analog front-end chip

Time:2025-08-08 Views:594
Ultrasound medical imaging has advantages such as non-invasive, real-time, and radiation free. Its applications cover multiple medical fields, from common B-ultrasound monitoring to echocardiography evaluation of cardiac function. However, ultrasound technology depends on high requirements such as imaging resolution, imaging speed, and image quality. High precision, wide dynamic range, multi-channel synchronous sampling and other characteristic simulation front-end chips are needed to provide key support for the performance of ultrasound medical imaging systems and help achieve more accurate medical diagnosis.

The eight channel 400ksps 24 bit analog front-end chip is 100% compatible with TI‘s ADS1278 in terms of software and hardware. The chip adopts industry-leading unique technology design:
Power consumption reduced by 40% compared to foreign competitors, reducing 210mW
The signal-to-noise ratio is increased by 3dB, and the theoretical detection accuracy can be improved by 0.7 times+
THD increased by 8dB, supporting lower temperature drift

The GX1278 uses a high-order multi bit Delta sigma modulator to shape the in band noise and filter it out through an on-chip digital extraction filter, resulting in very low in band noise power. GX1278 can choose from two types of on-chip digital filters: a high bandwidth FIR filter with an effective bandwidth of 90.6% of the Nyquist bandwidth and an in band ripple of less than ± 0.005dB; and a low latency SINC filter that can generate stable data output within 6 cycles and has better noise performance.
GX1278 can be directly controlled using a PIN pin, without the need to compile registers, making it easy for developers to use. It uses a high-order multi bit Delta sigma modulator to shape the in band noise and filter it out through an on-chip digital extraction filter, resulting in very low in band noise power. The characteristics of GX1278 are as follows:
