There are various types of power supplies in electronic systems, ranging from low-voltage power supplies to industrial bus power supplies and high-voltage DC power supplies. This application requires monitoring devices to cover a wide voltage range and have a very low measurement error rate in order to accurately detect small voltage fluctuations. Traditional voltage monitoring schemes often suffer from issues such as insufficient accuracy (error>1%), single channel, and weak anti-interference ability, making it difficult to meet the needs of complex systems.
The GX2990, a four-way I2C voltage, current, and temperature monitor from GXSC, has a voltage measurement accuracy of better than 0.25%, a current measurement accuracy of better than 0.75%, and a temperature measurement accuracy of better than 1.8 ℃. It is very suitable for single or mixed system applications of voltage, current, and temperature. GX2990 is an ideal replacement solution for ADI‘s LTC2990, as it is PIN TO PIN compatible.

GX2990 is a measurement chip suitable for board level system voltage, current, and temperature monitoring. Its single ended voltage resolution is as low as 305.18 μ V, differential voltage resolution is as low as 19.075 μ V, and temperature resolution is as low as 0.0625 ℃. GX2990 supports two input methods: 4-channel single ended voltage and 2-channel differential voltage, which can achieve voltage measurement, current measurement, or remote BJT temperature measurement. And it supports standard I2C dual line interface, supports standard I2C protocol, has 2 hardware optional address bits, and can expand up to 4 chips.
GX2990 integrates a temperature sensor and a voltage sensor internally to monitor the working temperature and voltage of the chip itself. It also integrates a high-precision reference with a temperature drift of 10ppm/℃, which does not require external reference. Therefore, compared with other solutions, it reduces the number of components and material costs required for engineering applications, reduces the PCB footprint, and improves the integration of the board.
