3GHz~20GHz broadband mixer chip GX5552/5553 replaces LTC5552/5553 for phased array system application

Time:2025-08-25 Views:534
Phased array systems, relying on electronic scanning array technology, can flexibly control beam pointing, achieve fast target search and tracking, and are widely used in military radar, satellite communication, 5G base stations, and other fields. In phased array systems, broadband mixers are responsible for mixing RF signals with local oscillation signals to generate intermediate frequency signals, which is a key link in the signal processing chain. LTC5552 and LTC5553 are commonly used broadband mixer chips in this field. This article mainly introduces a 3GHz~20GHz broadband mixer chip GX5552/5553 PIN TO PIN to replace LTC5552 and LTC5553, providing a new choice for phased array systems.

The operating frequency range of phased array systems is constantly expanding, requiring wider frequency coverage. GX5552/5553 is a high-performance passive dual balanced broadband mixer chip that can be used for up conversion or down conversion, supporting the 3GHz~20GHz frequency band. GX5552/5553 integrates internal RF balun, making it more convenient to use. It also integrates an LO amplification link, supporting a local oscillator operating frequency of 1-20GHz, with a typical local oscillator power of only 0dBm.
In phased array systems, strong interference signals and weak target signals coexist, and the mixer needs to have high linearity to avoid signal distortion. The GX5552/5553 has high linearity (input P-1dB and IIP3) and integration. In complex electromagnetic environments, the GX5552/5553 can accurately process signals of different intensities, preventing the generation of additional stray signals that may affect the system‘s detection and recognition of target signals. Main performance indicators of GX5552/5553:
