Application of GXSC voltage, current and temperature monitor GX2990 benchmarking LTC2990 in remote data acquisition

Time:2025-08-27 Views:352
Remote data collection is an important part of device status monitoring, risk warning, and energy efficiency optimization. However, in remote scenarios, problems such as long wiring distances, complex environmental interference, and limited power supply conditions often lead to data distortion due to insufficient accuracy, weak anti-interference ability, or high power consumption, making it difficult to meet industrial level reliability requirements. This article mainly introduces an integrated high-precision monitoring chip GX2990, which can perfectly match the core requirements of remote data acquisition.

Monitor GX2990 is suitable for monitoring board level system voltage, current, and temperature. The single ended voltage resolution is as low as 305.18 μ V, the differential voltage resolution is as low as 19.075 μ V, and the temperature resolution is as low as 0.0625 ℃. -Within the range of 40 ℃~125 ℃, the voltage measurement accuracy is better than 0.25%, the current measurement accuracy is better than 0.75%, and the temperature measurement accuracy is better than 1.8 ℃, which is very suitable for the application requirements of single or mixed systems of voltage, current, and temperature.
In remote scenarios, wiring costs account for 30% to 50% of the overall solution cost. If voltage, current, temperature and other parameters need to be collected simultaneously, traditional solutions require separate wiring for each parameter, which is extremely complex. GX2990 supports two input methods: 4-channel single ended voltage and 2-channel differential voltage, which can achieve voltage measurement, current measurement, or remote BJT temperature measurement. It also supports standard I2C dual line interface, standard I2C protocol, and has 2 hardware optional address bits, which can expand up to 4 chips.

In addition, GX2990 integrates a temperature sensor and a voltage sensor internally to monitor the working temperature and voltage of the chip itself. It also integrates a high-precision reference with a temperature drift of 10ppm/℃, which does not require external reference. Therefore, compared with other solutions, it reduces the number of components and material costs required for engineering applications, reduces the PCB footprint, and improves the integration of the board.
