16-channel 16-bit 1 MSPS dual-channel synchronous sampling analog-to-digital converter GX7616 replacing AD7616 for multiphase motor control applications

Time:2025-10-14 Views:159
Due to its advantages such as low-voltage high-power capability, high reliability, and high control flexibility, multiphase motors are increasingly being applied in the field of AC drive systems, making them the preferred choice for high-power, high-precision drive scenarios. The core of multiphase motor control lies in real-time acquisition of current and voltage signals from each phase winding, precise adjustment of the PWM waveform output by the inverter, and achieving closed-loop control of motor speed and torque. For signal acquisition in multiphase motor control, a multi-channel synchronous, wide dynamic range, and highly electromagnetic interference-resistant analog-to-digital converter chip is required.

The GXSC 16-channel 16-bit 1MSPS analog-to-digital converter, the GX7616, is specifically designed for multiphase motor control and supports dual-channel synchronous sampling. The GX7616 operates on a single 5V power supply and can handle true bipolar input signals of ±10V/±5V/±2.5V. Each channel achieves a signal-to-noise ratio of 89dB. By utilizing on-chip oversampling mode, even better signal-to-noise ratio performance can be attained. The input ports feature integrated clamping protection circuits, capable of withstanding clamping voltages up to ±22V.
To simplify the PCB design of the data acquisition system, the GX7616‘s advantages such as high integration and low power consumption perfectly suit industrial compact spaces. The chip features an input buffer with 1MΩ input impedance and an anti-aliasing filter, enabling direct analog signal acquisition without the need for driving operational amplifiers or external bipolar power supplies. It also integrates a highly configurable high-precision reference voltage generator and buffer.

The main features of the GX7616 are as follows:
Dual 16-bit successive approximation ADC
True bipolar analog input
Input signal range: ±10V, ±5V, ±2.5V
Conversion rate: 2 x 1 MSPS
Low power consumption: 210mW (internal reference)
On-chip reference voltage source and buffer
Parallel and serial interface modes
High-speed serial interface compatible with SPI interface protocol
80-pin LQFP package
The analog input channel provides a 4kV ESD rating

The GX7616 supports parallel or serial modes and is configured through different connection patterns of hardware pins. This feature creates various connection conditions for interfacing the device with microprocessors or DSPs, utilizing an 80-pin LQFP package or an 80-pin ceramic CQFP package.
