Four-channel I2C voltage, current, and temperature monitor replacing LTC2990 for environmental monitoring applications

Time:2025-10-15 Views:188
Environmental monitoring is a complex and systematic engineering endeavor involving a wide variety of monitoring parameters, covering key areas such as air quality, water quality, and soil quality, among others. To comprehensively understand changes in the ecological environment, it is necessary to conduct real-time monitoring of environmental temperatures in different regions by deploying temperature sensors at key locations within protected areas. The GXSC temperature monitor, the GX2990, can accurately measure temperatures at these locations, providing precise data support for studying changes in the ecosystem.
The domestic temperature monitor GX2990 is primarily suitable for board-level system voltage, current, and temperature monitoring. It features a single-ended voltage resolution as low as 305.18mV, a differential voltage resolution as low as 19.075μV, and a temperature resolution as low as 0.0625°C. The monitor operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, with voltage measurement accuracy exceeding 0.25%, current measurement accuracy exceeding 0.75%, and temperature measurement accuracy exceeding 1.8°C, making it highly suitable for system applications requiring environmental monitoring.
When collecting environmental data, the GX2990 supports both single-ended voltage input for four channels and differential voltage input for two channels, enabling voltage measurement, current measurement, or remote BJT temperature measurement. The GX2990 features a standard I2C two-wire interface, supports the standard I2C protocol, and includes two hardware-selectable address bits, allowing for the expansion of up to four chips. Additionally, the GX2990 internally integrates a temperature sensor and a voltage sensor to monitor the chip‘s operating temperature and working voltage.
To ensure stable and calibrated environmental data during measurement, the GX2990 integrates a high-precision reference source with a temperature drift of 10ppm/°C, eliminating the need for an external reference. Compared to other application solutions, using the GXSC GX2990 reduces the number of components and material costs required for engineering applications, further minimizes PCB footprint, enhances board integration, and is suitable for compact environmental monitoring devices.
