Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is a power protection device containing energy storage devices, used to continue providing stable power to equipment in the event of power interruption or abnormality. UPS is usually composed of rectifiers, inverters, and battery packs, which can quickly switch to battery power supply in case of power interruption, ensuring the normal operation of equipment.
When the mains power is normal, the rectifier of the UPS converts AC power into DC power to supply power to the equipment and charge the battery. Once the mains power is cut off or the voltage is abnormal, the built-in battery of the UPS immediately starts and converts the DC power in the battery into stable AC power through the inverter, continuing to supply power to the load. The whole process is usually completed within 10 milliseconds, and users are almost unaware. When the mains power returns to normal, the UPS automatically switches back to the mains power supply mode and continues to charge the battery pack, preparing for the next emergency situation.
The reliable operation of UPS systems highly relies on real-time and accurate monitoring of key electrical parameters, including input/output voltage, current, frequency, and the charging and discharging status of energy storage units. The UPS data acquisition scheme can use GXSC‘s four channel 12 bit 500kSPS synchronous sampling ADC, which has high UPS switching response speed, stable power supply, and accurate fault warning.

The GXSC ADC is equipped with four 12 bit fast, low-power successive approximation ADCs, and the chip supports synchronous sampling of four channels. The conversion rate of each channel of the ADC can reach up to 500kSPS. Chips use signals and internal oscillators to control the conversion process and data acquisition of the chip; Only powered by a 5V power supply, supporting the conversion of+10V and+5V true bipolar input signals.
To create conditions for the interface connection between the device and the microprocessor or DSP, the GXDC ADC has a high-speed parallel interface and a high-speed serial interface. The chip adopts a plastic sealed LQFP44 and is compatible with the imported product ADI‘s AD7864.
