Multi-channel sensor data acquisition in industrial settings is a key component of industrial automation, process control, and smart manufacturing. High-precision, noise-resistant data acquisition modules can enhance product quality consistency and production efficiency. This article introduces a GXSC 24-bit, 8/16-channel, 125 kSPS analog-to-digital converter designed to replace the AD4115 for multi-channel sensor data acquisition in industrial settings. This solution offers 100% hardware and software compatibility, enabling a rapid replacement.
The GXSC ADC is designed around a Σ-Δ ADC core. Its integrator-based acquisition architecture offers superior noise suppression capabilities compared to SAR-type ADCs and also provides power-line noise suppression. The extremely low offset voltage provides an offset as low as 0.5 mV, which is approximately 10 times smaller than that of competing products. Offset affects the accuracy of small signals, particularly in voltage acquisition applications. Thanks to its excellent offset performance, this AFE achieves 0.1% calibration-free accuracy across the ±1.5 V to ±10 V range.

The GXSC ADC offers excellent noise performance, providing nearly 16-bit noise-free resolution at a conversion rate of 31.25 kSPS—an improvement of nearly one bit compared to industry competitors. This superior noise performance enhances the accuracy of small-signal measurements, particularly in current acquisition applications. It allows for the use of lower-resistance sampling resistors to reduce system power consumption while maintaining the same 0.1% accuracy.
The application features of the GXSC ADC are as follows:
Effective resolution: 17.9bits@62.5kSPS
Total calibration error: 0.07%
Offset as low as: 0.5 mV
High AC PSRR: 50 dB @ 50 Hz to 100 kHz
High integration: Integrated internal reference (temperature drift: 6 ppm/°C (Typ.)), precision voltage divider, and integrated 2°C high-precision temperature sensor
Supports simultaneous 50/60 Hz suppression
Supports SPI CRC check
Open-circuit detection: Output goes to zero upon input open-circuit
Higher ESD/temperature ratings: 2000 V/1250 V HBM/CDM
Digital Supply: 2.7V–5.5V; Analog Supply: 4.5V–5.5V
Package: 6.0mm × 6.0mm QFN (40-pin)
Operating Temperature Range: –40°C to +125°C
Exceptionally High AC Power Supply Rejection Ratio In complex industrial environments, various frequencies of noise are coupled onto the ADC’s power supply, which puts the ADC’s AC PSRR performance to the test. The GXSC analog-to-digital converter delivers nearly 50 dB of power supply rejection across the 1 kHz to 100 kHz frequency range, outperforming industry competitors. This feature ensures the device can still perform accurate data acquisition even in harsh, noisy environments.
