Due to the rapid evolution of automotive autopilot technology, the auto drive system needs to obtain the steering wheel angle, wheel steering angle and laser radar scanning angle in real time to achieve centimeter level path planning, which puts strict requirements on the accuracy and real-time of vehicle attitude, steering angle and sensor fusion. As the "sensory nerve" of these parameters, the performance of RDC directly affects the safety of automatic driving. This paper mainly introduces the application of an RDC GX2S1210 to replace AD2S1210 in the auto drive system.
RDC is a key position sensor in motor control, which is used to accurately measure the position, speed, and direction of rotation of the motor rotor, and transmit these key information to the electronic control system. Through software control algorithms, the electronic control system can accurately control the motor based on this information.
The RDC GX2S1210 has ultra-high resolution and precision ranging from 10 to 16 bits, and integrates an on-chip programmable sine wave oscillator to provide sine wave excitation for the inverter. The sine and cosine input terminals of the converter allow for the input of signals ranging from 3.15Vp-p ± 27% in frequency from 2kHz to 20kHz. The Type II servo loop is used to track input signals and convert the information at the sine and cosine input terminals into digital quantities corresponding to input angles and velocities, with a maximum tracking rate of 3125 rps. Very suitable for application environments such as automotive electronics and industry.

RDC GX2S1210 Main Performance:
Maximum tracking rate: 3125 rps (10 bit resolution)
• Accuracy: ± 2.5 arc minutes
Resolution: 10/12/14/16 bits, set by the user
Parallel and serial 10 bit to 16 bit data ports
Absolute position and velocity output
• System fault detection
• Programmable fault detection threshold
Differential input
Incremental encoder simulation
• Built in programmable sine wave oscillator
Power supply voltage 5V, logic interface voltage 2.3V to 5V
Rated temperature range: -40 ° C to+125 ° C
Summary: GXSC provides a series of high-performance rotary digital conversion chips that can convert analog signals output by rotary converters into digital signals, providing high-precision angle and speed information. It solves the problems of difficult rotor position determination and low rotation speed sampling rate in traditional brushless motors, and can meet the personalized needs of modern servo systems, automotive motion detection and control, electric power steering, aerospace engines, etc.
