Satellite communication is a mature method for voice, video, and data transmission, recognized as an effective means for transmitting GPS navigation signals, weather information, television broadcasts, voice, and data, as well as for imaging and scientific applications. With the advancement of communication technology, the performance requirements for satellite communication systems have also increased. The Ku-band 4T4R amplitude-phase multifunctional chip GX4680 can replace the ADMV4680 to meet the needs of various satellite communication systems.
The GX4680 covers the Ku-band satellite communication frequency ranges for reception (10.7~12.7 GHz) and transmission (14~14.5 GHz). The chip integrates four receive and four transmit channels along with corresponding power combining/distribution networks, making it a highly integrated silicon-based beamforming chip. Each receive and transmit channel supports 6-bit amplitude and 6-bit phase control. It employs a 4-wire standard SPI logic for register configuration and control, enabling bias adjustment, channel on/off control, and transmit/receive switching.
The advantages of the GX4680 are as follows:
1. Performance compatible with ADMV4680
2. CMOS process, low-cost mass production
3. High transmission and reception gain ≥25dB
4. High transmission output power: OP-1d8 power ≥ 11dBm
5. Low power consumption

The GX4680 features five address pins (ADD0~ADD4) for serial control of up to 32 chips in applications. It supports beam storage within the chip for quick beam state switching. The GX4680 operates on a 1.2V main power supply, while the digital I/O is powered by 3.3V and utilizes standard 3.3V CMOS logic.
