The Codec chip GX8311 replaces the ES8311 for application in bidirectional radio equipment

Time:2025-11-03 Views:125
Two-way radio equipment is a crucial communication tool widely used in various scenarios such as construction, emergency response, and outdoor activities. In these contexts, two-way radio devices have stringent audio codec requirements. Firstly, real-time performance is indispensable, as position reports and operational instructions during outdoor missions must be transmitted instantaneously. Secondly, audio quality is a key factor in the performance of two-way radio devices. High-quality audio codecs can effectively reduce background noise interference, enabling users to hear each other clearly and thereby improving communication efficiency.

Therefore, the hardware connection between the audio codec chip and the main control chip is the foundation for achieving audio functionality. Guoxin Sichen‘s low-power single-channel audio codec GX8311 is optimized for voice recording/playback, making it highly suitable for demanding two-way radio equipment.
The GX8311 codec chip features fully differential output and supports programmable analog input in fully differential configuration. The recording path includes a fully differential input, a low-noise programmable gain amplifier, and automatic gain control (ALC), ensuring clear sound recording. During recording, built-in programmable filters are used to eliminate noise. The playback path consists of a mono DAC, programmable volume control, and fully differential output.

Introduction to the Main Performance of GX8311:
1. System: High-performance low-power 24-bit delta-sigma audio ADC and DAC, I2S/PCM master or slave serial data ports, 256/384Fs, USB 12/24MHz and other non-standard audio system clocks, with I2C interface.
2. ADC: 24-bit, 8 to 96kHz sampling frequency, 95dB signal-to-noise ratio, -93dB THD+N, a pair of differential analog inputs, low-noise programmable gain amplifier, automatic level control (ALC), noise gate, supports both analog and digital microphones.
3. DAC: 24-bit, 8 to 96kHz sampling frequency, 95dB signal-to-noise ratio, -85dB THD+N, one pair of differential analog output, dynamic range compression, burst and click noise suppression
4. Low Power Consumption: Operating voltage of 1.8V to 3.3V, low standby current
