Four-Channel 4A DC/DC Regulator GX4644 Replaces LTM4644 for Multi-Track Load-Point Regulation

DC-DC converters are used in various electronic devices to convert one DC voltage into another stable DC voltage. They can either step up (boost) or step down (buck) the input DC voltage to meet the voltage requirements of different loads. Compared to traditional linear regulators, DC-DC converters typically offer higher conversion efficiency (often exceeding 90%), which helps reduce energy waste and heat generation, making them particularly suitable for battery-powered devices.

The GX4644 is a four-channel 4A DC/DC voltage regulator, with each output capable of delivering 4A current. Outputs can be paralleled to form an array, providing up to 16A current capability. The package integrates a switching controller, power MOSFET, inductor, and supporting components. The GX4644 operates within an input voltage range of 4V to 14V or 2.375V to 14V (with an external bias supply) and supports an output voltage range of 0.6V to 5.5V. Its high-efficiency design enables each channel to deliver 4A continuous (5A peak) output current. Only large input and output capacitors are required.
