GXSC Analog-to-Digital Converter Replacement for ADS4449 in Active Antenna Arrays

Time:2025-12-16 Views:27
Active antenna arrays are core components of modern communication, radar, and electronic warfare systems. By coordinating the operation of multiple antenna elements and transceiver channels, they achieve beamforming, spatial diversity, and interference suppression. The performance of these systems hinges on the synchronization, linearity, and real-time capability of signal acquisition across all channels. The analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) within them must simultaneously meet application requirements such as multi-channel integration, high dynamic range, low power consumption, and anti-jamming capabilities. This paper introduces the application of a GXSC ADC in active antenna arrays.

The core function of an active antenna array is to achieve beamforming and interference suppression through the coordinated processing of multi-channel signals, with requirements for ADC primarily focusing on four key dimensions: "synchronization, linearity, multi-channel integration, and interference resistance." The GXSC analog-to-digital converter core employs a multi-stage differential pipelined architecture and incorporates output error correction logic. The chip can be pin-to-pin compatible with the ADS4449, aligning with the performance design of active antenna arrays.
The GXSC analog-to-digital converter features high bandwidth for each ADC, supporting multiple user-selectable input ranges. The chip integrates a duty cycle correction circuit to stabilize the duty cycle of the internal clock signal, ensuring consistent outstanding conversion performance. This domestic ADC outputs conversion data directly via two pairs of cross-connected, multi-channel multiplexed 14-bit LVDS-level interface circuits, allowing flexible configuration of the chip in power-down mode to significantly reduce power consumption. Programming for setting and control is accomplished using a four-wire SPI serial interface.
