GXSC Analog-to-Digital Converter Replaces AD9268 for Base Station RF Signal Digitization

Time:2026-01-20 Views:54
RF signal digitization is a critical component in modern communication base stations, determining the base station‘s signal demodulation accuracy, multi-mode compatibility, interference suppression capability, and network coverage quality. With the widespread adoption of 5G technology and the large-scale deployment of multi-mode base stations, base stations must process multi-band signals including GSM, EDGE, W-CDMA, LTE, and 5G NR. This necessitates analog-to-digital converters with high-speed sampling, high-precision conversion, and low-power consumption characteristics.
GXSC‘s four-channel 14-bit 125MHz ADC features high sampling rates, high signal-to-noise ratio, intermediate frequency sampling capability, and a compact package design. It is ideally suited for base station RF signal digitization requirements and serves as the preferred component for applications including multi-mode base stations, smart antenna systems, and software-defined radio. Each channel‘s ADC core employs a multi-stage, differential pipeline architecture and integrates output error correction logic. Each ADC incorporates a wide-bandwidth, differential sampling-and-hold analog input amplifier supporting user-selectable input ranges. Key product advantages include:
- Package size and functional compatibility with AD9268
- Low power consumption, no heat sink required
- Selectable on-chip jitter
- Programmable internal ADC reference voltage source
- Single 1.8 V supply operation
Flexible analog input range: 1Vpp to 2VpP
Flexible power-down modes
The GXSC ADC outputs data directly to two external 16-bit output ports configurable as 1.8V CMOS or LVDS. Flexible power-down options significantly reduce power consumption when needed. Configuration and control utilize a three-wire SPI-compatible serial interface. To accommodate diverse application requirements and scenarios, this ADC offers a product family with selectable speed grades of 60MSPS, 80MSPS, 105MSPS, and 125MSPS, enabling flexible power management. Speed grades are identified via dedicated registers. Key features include:
• Integrated dual-channel 125MSPS ADC
• Low power consumption, no heat sink required
• Optional on-chip jitter
• Programmable internal ADC reference voltage source
• Integrated ADC sample-and-hold input
• Single 1.8V power supply
• 1.8V CMOS/LVDS output
• Flexible analog input range: 1Vpp to 2Vpp
• Serial port control
• Flexible power-saving shutdown modes
