GXSC Analog-to-Digital Converter Seamlessly Replaces LTC2255 for High-Frequency/High-Precision Applications

Time:2026-03-04 Views:0
High-frequency/high-precision scenarios span multiple domains including communications, medical equipment, test and measurement, industrial imaging, and radar. Despite significant differences in application contexts, their core requirements are highly consistent: achieving high-precision, high-fidelity digitization of high-frequency signals while maintaining low power consumption, compact size, and high reliability. This article introduces a 14-bit, 125Msps single-channel low-power analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that replaces the LTC2255 for high-frequency/high-precision applications.

Signals in high-frequency scenarios typically range from tens to hundreds of MHz. This demands ADCs with high-speed sampling capabilities and wide bandwidth to fully capture the waveform and details of high-frequency signals. The GXSC ADC supports sampling rates up to 125 Msps with a full-power bandwidth of 270 MHz, effortlessly capturing high-frequency signals up to hundreds of MHz. It perfectly meets the demands of high-frequency communications, high-frequency test and measurement, radar pulse signals, and similar applications. Its high-speed sampling capability ensures complete capture of transient changes in high-frequency signals.

The GXSC ADC is exceptionally well-suited for demanding communications applications. Its AC performance includes 72.3dB SNR and 85dB SFDR (for signals at the Nyquist frequency). DC specifications feature ±1LSB INL (typical) across the entire temperature range, ±0.5LSB DNL (typical), and no missing codes. Conversion noise is exceptionally low at 1.3 LSBRMS. The chip operates at low power from a single 3V supply. A separate output supply enables driving 0.5V to 3.3V logic circuits.

Key features of the GXSC ADC include:
Performance rivals the industry benchmark LTC2255, enabling seamless replacement
Proprietary ESD protection circuit design with measured ESD (HBM) >7000V (rated 4000V)
14-bit 125Msps, single-channel low-power A/D converter
Designed for digitizing high-frequency, wide dynamic range signals
 Single 3V (2.85~3.4V) supply
Low power consumption: 280mW
No missing codes
Flexible input range: 1Vp-p to 2Vp-p
640MHz full-power bandwidth sampling and hold
Integrated clock duty cycle stabilizer
Supports shutdown and sleep modes
