GXSC Power Module Regulator Replaces LTM4644 for High-Density, High-Efficiency, Low-Ripple Applications in Servers

Time:2026-03-17 Views:0
Servers serve as the core infrastructure for data centers, enterprise computing power, and cloud services. Their operational stability and computing efficiency are directly linked to the performance of their power supply systems. Server power supply systems must provide multiple independent power rails to meet the voltage and current requirements of various components, while balancing high integration, high reliability, fast transient response, and low ripple to accommodate the compact layout of server motherboards and ensure long-term stable operation.

To address the application requirements of multi-rail power supply and high-density integration in servers, GXSC has introduced a four-output, independent, non-isolated switch-mode DC/DC power supply. It features four independent regulator channels, each capable of delivering up to 4A of continuous output current, with virtually no external input or output capacitors. Each regulator provides a precisely adjustable output voltage ranging from 0.6V to 5.5V across an input voltage range of 4V to 14V via an external resistor. Using an external bias voltage, the module can operate at input voltages as low as 2.375V.

The device integrates four independent fixed-frequency, on-time-controlled, valley-current-mode regulators, power MOSFETs, inductors, and other supporting discrete components. The typical switching frequency is set to 1 MHz. For applications sensitive to switching noise, the μModule regulator can be externally synchronized to a clock ranging from 700 kHz to 1.3 MHz. With the switch controller, power FETs, inductors, and support components integrated into the package, it is ideal for multi-rail, high-current, high-density, and high-reliability power supply systems.
Key Features of the GXSC DC/DC Regulator:
 Pin-to-pin replacement for the LTM4644
 4A current per output channel
 Four-channel step-down μModule regulator
Wide input voltage range: 4V to 14V
2.375V to 14V (with external capacitor)
 0.6V to 5.5V output voltage
4A DC, 5A peak output current per channel
Up to 5.5W power dissipation (TA=60°C, no heatsink)
 ±1.5% output voltage regulation
Current-mode control with fast transient response
Higher output current achievable through parallel operation
 Output voltage tracking
Internal temperature sensing diode output
External frequency synchronization
Overvoltage, overcurrent, and over-temperature protection
Supports 9mm x 15mm x 5.01mm BGA package

Through current-mode control and internal feedback loop compensation, this DC/DC regulator module offers sufficient stability margin and excellent transient performance, making it suitable for a wide range of output capacitors, including all ceramic output capacitors.
