Three-phase industrial smart meters are the most commonly used metering devices in industrial settings. They are primarily used for energy metering in three-phase electrical loads, such as industrial workshops and factory production lines, and must simultaneously measure parameters including three-phase voltage, current, power, energy, and power factor. These applications require high measurement accuracy, strong anti-interference capabilities, and long-term stable operation. The signal acquisition devices used must feature multi-channel synchronization, high precision, and high integration.
Compared to residential electricity meters, industrial meters face more complex operating environments and metering requirements. GXSC’s eight-channel 16/18-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) have been widely adopted in various industrial meters. With features such as 8-channel synchronous sampling, 16-bit high precision, a wide input range, and strong anti-interference capabilities, these GXSC ADCs efficiently enable the precise acquisition and measurement of multiple parameters in industrial meters, balancing reliability with high integration. Each channel includes analog input clamping protection, a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), a low-pass filter (LPF), and a 16-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC).

Additionally, the GXSC ADC includes a flexible digital filter, a low-drift, 2.5V precision reference voltage source, and a reference voltage buffer for driving the ADC, as well as flexible parallel and serial interfaces that enable seamless integration with various MCUs and DSPs, ensuring compatibility with control units commonly used in industrial electricity meters. The chip’s input clamping protection withstands voltages up to ±21V. Thanks to single-supply operation, on-chip filtering, and high input impedance, external driver operational amplifiers (which require a bipolar power supply) are not required. For applications with lower throughput, the chip’s flexible digital filter can be used to improve noise performance.
