X-band transceivers are primarily used in applications such as radar detection and aerospace telemetry and control. They require wide instantaneous bandwidth, high linearity, and strong anti-interference capabilities to enable precise signal frequency conversion and transmission in complex electromagnetic environments. Ku-band transceivers, on the other hand, are used in fields such as satellite communications and wireless backhaul, where high demands are placed on the mixer’s bandwidth coverage, local oscillator compatibility, and port isolation.
The mixer is the core component of a transceiver’s frequency conversion chain, responsible for mixing X/Ku-band RF signals with local oscillator signals to achieve up-conversion or down-conversion. Its linearity, bandwidth, noise performance, and integration level directly impact the overall performance of the transceiver. GXSC’s high-performance passive dual-balanced broadband mixer chip can be used for up-conversion or down-conversion. Featuring ultra-wide bandwidth coverage, low conversion loss, high linearity, low noise figure, and an integrated design, it is an ideal choice for X/Ku-band transceivers.

GXSC’s broadband mixer offers high linearity (input P-1dB and IIP3) and integration, incorporating an internal RF balun to support a wide operating frequency range of 2–14 GHz. It is compatible with multi-band weather radars, supporting “multi-band collaborative detection” for weather radar systems. The chip integrates an internal LO amplification chain, supporting local oscillator (LO) operating frequencies from 1 to 12 GHz, with a typical LO power requirement of only 0 dBm. It also integrates an LO doubler, which can be enabled or disabled via a CMOS logic-compatible port. Enabling the LO doubler reduces the required LO frequency, facilitating system implementation.
