ADAR1000 Functional Replacement: GX1003 5–18 GHz Beamformer with Self-Test

发布日期:2026-08-19 点击次数:78

GX1003 is a four-channel, half-duplex beamforming IC operating from 5 GHz to 18 GHz. Its broadband coverage supports C-, X- and Ku-band radar, satellite communication and detection systems.

Unlike conventional SPI-controlled beamformers, GX1003 uses dedicated beam-control logic with separate serial data and function-control interfaces. It is not a pin-to-pin replacement for ADAR1000 and requires hardware and software redesign.

GX1003 as a Functional ADAR1000 Replacement

GX1003 integrates four transmit paths, four receive paths and a four-way RF splitter/combiner network. Independent phase and amplitude control supports beam steering, channel calibration and amplitude tapering.

The device provides the principal functions required to replace ADAR1000 at the system level while adding self-test, multichannel ADC monitoring and configurable pulse-protection functions.

Hardware and Software Changes Required for ADAR1000 Migration

GX1003 and ADAR1000 both support 4T4R half-duplex beamforming, phase and amplitude adjustment, beam storage, power detection, temperature sensing and external RF front-end control.

However, GX1003 uses a different WLCSP package, control-interface structure, register architecture, pinout and protection architecture. Its 6-bit phase control also provides a 5.6° step, compared with the 2.8° phase resolution of ADAR1000.

Replacing ADAR1000 with GX1003 requires redesign of the schematic, PCB, power supplies, RF interfaces and control software.
