AD9245 Replacement: GX9245 Pin-to-Pin 14-Bit 80 MSPS ADC
GX9245 is developed for high-speed data acquisition systems requiring 14-bit resolution, parallel CMOS output and wide analog input bandwidth.
The device integrates a high-performance sample-and-hold amplifier, an on-chip voltage reference and a multistage differential pipeline ADC with digital error correction. It supports sampling rates up to 80 MSPS while providing no missing codes across the specified operating-temperature range.
GX9245 uses a QFN-32 package measuring 5 mm × 5 mm and provides pin-to-pin hardware compatibility with AD9245. For existing AD9245 systems operating within the GX9245 supply range, the original schematic, PCB footprint and parallel data-acquisition architecture can be retained after electrical and timing verification.
GX9245 as a Direct AD9245 Replacement
GX9245 is a single-channel, 14-bit pipelined ADC supporting conversion rates up to 80 MSPS. Its differential input architecture provides a 500 MHz analog input bandwidth and selectable input spans from 1 V p-p to 2 V p-p.
The device is suitable for replacing AD9245 in communication receivers, medical imaging equipment, portable instruments, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and industrial data acquisition systems.
GX9245 can also be evaluated for new designs requiring a compact 14-bit ADC with parallel CMOS output, wide input bandwidth, low power consumption and extended operating-temperature capability.
Pin-to-Pin Hardware and CMOS Interface Compatibility with AD9245
GX9245 provides a pin-compatible QFN-32 hardware migration solution for the 32-lead AD9245 LFCSP package. Compatible analog inputs, reference connections, clock and control signals, output data pins and out-of-range indication allow the existing board architecture to be retained.
The 14-bit parallel CMOS output supports offset-binary and two’s-complement data formats. A single-ended clock input controls conversion, while the integrated duty-cycle stabilizer compensates for clock duty-cycle variation.
The converter uses pin-controlled operating modes rather than a serial configuration register interface. Migration therefore focuses on electrical levels and interface timing instead of register-map conversion. In validated configurations, existing FPGA, DSP or MCU data-capture logic can be retained.
GX9245 supports a 3.0 V to 3.6 V analog supply and 2.5 V or 3.3 V digital-output logic. Because AD9245 specifies an analog supply range beginning at 2.7 V, existing systems operating below 3.0 V must have their analog supply reviewed before replacement.
For systems already operating from a 3.0 V to 3.6 V analog supply, GX9245 can normally be installed without changing the schematic or PCB, subject to pinout, reference, clock, loading and timing verification.
